64 People Who Are Making Dallas Hot!
The Altruist
WENDY KRISPIN
In 1986, as AIDS
was just beginning to slice its way through the local
gay community, the public at large wasn't taking notice.
But Wendy Krispin was. Her young, male employees were
dying so fast that she had trouble replacing them.
That year, she underwrote her first DIFFA (Design
Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS) event. Since then,
Krispin has contributed thousands of dollars and untold
hours fighting AIDS, using her catering company as
a way to help AIDS groups throw parties to raise big
money. "One of the things I learned a long time
ago is that you take the things you've been given
and you give back," she says. "I've tried
to do live by that motto, and I've prospered."
